Angelica, Inge. 2017. Using Vlog to Improve Students Speaking Skill to the Seventh Graders of SMPN 2 Godean. Thesis. Undergraduate Program. Mercu Buana University of Yogyakarta. Advisor: Elysa Hartati, S.Pd., M.Pd Keyword: Vlog, Students’ Speaking Skill, Classroom Action Research Students in SMP N 2 Godean thought that speaking skill was difficult. In fact, speaking skill was the important thing in communication. The objectives of the research was to examine if vlog can improve students‟ speaking skill and to investigate how far the improvement students‟ speaking skill is. This research applied Classroom Action Research (CAR). The researcher worked with English teacher in the class. The CAR was done in two cycle that consisted of Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. The data were gathered through qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were obtained by observation and interview result. The quantitative data were obtained by the speaking test and questionnaire. The result of this research showed that there was improvement on the students‟ speaking skill, it could be seen from the mean score of pre-test to the post-test. The mean score pre-test was 65 while the mean score post-test was 77. The students has been passed the minimum mastery criterion (KKM) in the posttest. They achieved the score. From the result of questionnaire it showed that there was improvement of the positive responses from the students in teaching and learning process of speaking skill through vlog. It was improved their speaking ability. It means that the students was helped to improve their speaking used vlog. The result of observation and interview showed that the students were motivated and enjoyed in teaching and learning process during the implementation of vlog. In addition, the implementation of vlog was success to help the students pratice their speaking easily. In conclusion, the students‟ speaking skill was improved used the implementation of vlog.
