Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the ability of mathematical communications and student learning outcomes of Class VII SMPN 2 Godean through cooperative learning strategies with Two Stay-Two Stray (TS-TS) type. Type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). Subject of this research was the students of VII public junior high school 2 Godean semester of academic year 2016/2017. The object of this research was the implementation of cooperative learning Two Stay-Two Stray (TS-TS type). The instrument used is in the form of description test, observation sheet, and documentation. The technique of analysis used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The results of this research in the first cycle showed the ability of students mathematical communication on the results of the first post-test with an average of 65.79 students with the highest value of 95, the lowest score of 45, as well as a lot of students who completed 11 students and the remaining 21 students was not complete.Learning Outcomesin Meeting I showed the average grade 54.06 students with classical completeness 21.87%, then in meeting II with an average of 71.25 with 65.63% classical completeness,then in meeting III showed an average value of 77.19 with Classical mastery of 71.87%. Analysis of the second cycle tests on mathematical communication tests which is the results of post-test II shows the average of 76.20 with a highest score of 94.3, the lowest value of 57.1 and a lot of students who completed 26 students and the remaining 6 students was incomplete. In the learning outcomes in meeting I shows the average student score of 75.97 with classical completeness of 81.25% and meeting II with an average value of 82.19 with 100% classical completeness.
