Abstract

ABSTRACT Ulfi Nahdhiyatul Khusna: Comparison of Cooperative Learning of Team Games Tournament (TGT) with Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type From the Student Achievement and Interest of Class VIII SMPN 2 Godean. Undergraduate Thesis. Yogyakarta, Strata One, University of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta, 2017. This study aims to 1) Describe the differences of cooperative learning of Team Games Tournament type and Student Team Achievement Division in terms of student achievement and interest 2) compare which is better between cooperative learning Team Game Tournamnet (TGT) type with Student Team Achievement Division ( STAD) type in terms of student achievement and interest in grade VIII SMP N 2 Godean. The research method used is quasi-experimental with of research Nonequivalent control group design. Sampling way done randomly. Mathematics learning in class VIII C used TGT type learning model and class VIII D used STAD type learning model. The instrument used is the test of learning achievement and questionnaire of students' interest in mathematics. To find out the difference of learning with TGT and STAD method in terms of student achievement and interest the data were analyzed by using multivariate T² Hotteling test. Whereas to find out which one is better, it used to use Test-t Univariate. The results showed that there are differences in cooperative learning type TGT and STAD in terms of student achievement and interest in learning. The average score of student achievement of TGT and STAD classes after research was 82.66 and 70.94. While the average score of students' interest in TGT and STAD classes after research was 74.62 and 68.66. The result of t test of achievement and interest in learning shows t value = 4,147 with significant level 0,000 <0,05 and t arithmetic = 3,312 with significant level 0,000 <0,05. Thus it can be concluded that cooperative learning type TGT is better than cooperative learning type STAD in terms of student achievement and interest in grade VIII SMP N 2 Godean.
