Education has an important role in the progress of the times, in the field of
education the term career cannot be forgotten, career has the meaning of
development and progress in one's life. A career is not only concerned with
one's job, because a career is dynamic and open throughout life as a form of
one's development in life which includes work, education, training and
various activities that support one's personal development. The purpose of
this study was to determine the influence of the role of career orientation and
family social support on career decision making. The sample amounted to 168
people, who were determined by purposive sampling technique. The data
collection method used a Likert scale manifold scale with a Cronbach's Alpha
value> 0.9 strong category. Data analysis using regression analysis. The
results showed that there was a career orientation and family social support
for career decision making with an F value of 36.345 (p <0.01). The effective
contribution was 67.6%, while the remaining 32.4% was caused by other
factors not examined in this study such as self-efficacy, conformity, career
planning and interests.
