Abstract
Team dynamics are the behavioral and emotional forces that influence a
team's performance and direction. It is set by a leader who would structure and
arrange the members so that it becomes a solid team. Team dynamics can help a
company increase its productivity by encouraging employees to work towards a
common goal to achieve goals as well as support groups to understand each other
better and create more open communication. This study presents a crucial
situation that occurs in a team in the X-Men First Class film by Mathew's Vaughn,
a movie about a man, Charles Xavier (Professor X) who intends to join CIA
officers and sponsor the mutants inviting them to a secret Division X facility. The
main focus of this research is to analyze how the X-Men team becomes a team
that can work well together lead by an intelligent mutan in the film. To answer
these problems, a deep study in the literature and qualitative descriptive methods
are used. This study reveals the team dynamics are important and influential. For
the collaboration itself there are four phases: forming, storming, norming and
performing. Thus, Charles Xavier shapes good teamwork, making the team go
through problems and prevent segregation or betrayal so that it would give benefit
for all and no one is harmed.
