KEEFEKTIFAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN GROUP INVESTIGATION DITINJAU DARI MOTIVASI DAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII MTS AL FALAAH

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of Group Investigation (GI) model through motivation and students’ achievement of eight grader students’ of MTs Al Falaah. This is quasi experiment research which is used nonequivalent control group design. This research uses two groups, there are experiment group and control group.
The population include all of the eight grader students of MTs Al Falaah with the total of student is 160 students. The sample taken by purposive sampling as much two classes, there are VIII C and VIII D. Class D is control group implemented conventional method, then class VIII C is experiment group implemented group investigation model. The instrument are learning achievement test and questionnaire of learning motivation. Manova test uses to know the differentiation of effectiveness using group investigation model and conventional method. In the same line, independent sample t-test uses to identify which variable that more effective through motivation and students’ learning achievement.
The result of the research shows that there were differentiation between the effectiveness of group investigation model and conventional method through motivation and students’ learning achievement of eight grader students’of MTs Al-Falaah. The research shows that group investigation model was more effective through motivation and students’ learning achievement of eight grader students of MTs Al Falaah.
