Penguatan Pakan Konsentrat Berbasis Keong Emas Untuk Menekan Biaya Produksi Ayam Kub Di Kelompok Ternak Sawung Maju Berbah Sleman

Community service activities carried out in early May - October 2017, located in the Village ,District Jogotirto Berbah Sleman District has contributed significantly to the citizens, especially members of the group KUB Sawung Maju us target, received a very good welcome and high enthusiasm. Golden snail is a pest for rice crops that at any time must be removed by farmers, but actually can be used as a source of protein chicken feed KUB. For farmers, feed costs are the main obstacle in producing chicken KUB, because the price relatifly is high. Utilization of the golden snail as feed ingredients in the ration is a solution. Community service aims to help farmers provide cheap and accessible feed concentrates. Implementation of the program is done by extension, training and mentoring. The gold snail -based concentrate produced in the KUB Berbah chicken group can be reduced up to Rp. 3,450 / kg is cheaper than factory-made price Rp. 7500 / kg. The feed cost of parent stock content of 18% crude protein based on the factorymade concentrate is Rp 5.300, while gold snail-based , concentrate costs only Rp 4.010. Feed for enlargement and fattening based on factory -made concentrate is Rp 5.700 / kg, using gold snail - based concentrate is pressed to Rp 3.960 / kg. Fattening KUB chicken for 70 days using ready feed made by factory produce profit Rp 10,200 / head, the use of factory-based concentrate feed produces profit Rp. 10.380, and the use of gold snail-based concentrate feed produces a profit of Rp 13,164.
