Abstract
Resilience is the ability to recover from the difficult circumstances that experienced by someone and to see the problem as a challenge to be accomplished. The post-referendum conflict that occurred has cause some of the origin people of East Timor become refugee. Generally, the victim of the conflict lose their possessions, houses, even separate from families.
This research aims to describe the resilience process to the person who becomes a refugee. The participants of this research are two men with the average of age fifty years old and beyond, originally from East Timor that has become ex-refugee. This research uses qualitative approach with the depth structured interview method of study and descriptive observation. The result of this research shows the aspect that build the resilience are: emotion regulation, impulse control, the cause of problem analysis, optimism, empathy, self-efficacy and reaching out. However, beside those aspects it is known that there are several factors that comes from within and also the environment which helps the resilience process.
