ABSTRACT
Rimba Andri Setiawan: The Impact of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) Learning Model to Increase Motivation and Student’s Learning Achievement In Learning Mathematics of Seven Graders of SMP Negeri 1 Seyegan. Thesis. Yogyakarta. Undergraduate Program. University of Mercu Buana Yogyakarta. 2017.
The purpose of the research was to describe the impact of Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) to increase motivation and student’s learning achievement in class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Seyegan. The reseach was quasi experimental which used pretest posttest control group design research. The research used two groups, they were experimen group and control group.
The population of the research include all of the students of class VII A – VII D of SMP Negeri 1 Seyegan. The total of the students are 128 students wherease the sample taken by purposive sampling of two classes, they were class VII A and VII C. Class VII A was control group and used direct instruction model, then class VII C was experiment group and used MMP learning model. The instrument of the research was achievement learning test, questionnaire of learning motivation, and documentation. Manova test was used to find the differences of the impact in using MMP learning model and direct instruction model to increase the motivation and student’s learning achievement. Then, independent sample t-test was used to identify which variable that more influence in increasing motivation and students learning achievement.
The result of the research shows that there were some different impact in using MMP learning model and direct instruction model to increase motivation and students’ learning achievement in class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Seyegan. Which, that MMP learning model much influence in increasing motivation and students’ learning achievement for class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Seyegan.
