THE PERCEPTION ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH SLANG LANGUAGE USED BY FOREIGNERS AT A HOSTEL IN PRAWIROTAMAN YOGYAKARTA

The purpose of this study is to analyze the perception of the slang
used by foreigners at one of the hostels in Prawirotaman. This
study aims to find out the perceptions of the employees when they
heard the slang for the first time by using descriptive Qualitative
method observation, interview, and documentation was used in
this research The results showed that there were seven slang
words in foreigner conversations that had made employed
miscommunication. namely, Monkey suit, Penguin Suit,
Maryjane, Poppin, Pal, Asap, and TBT (Throwback Thursday).
The research of it shows the unique perception of people about
their understanding of slang itself a which means it also help
another researcher who studies slang.
