Abstract

This study revealed the result of a product in the form of
Pokemon Game Media learning media in learning English
especially in speaking skills. This type of research is Research
and Development (R&D) which develops the ADDIE model with
several stages such as analysis, design, development,
implementation, and evaluation. This research was conducted in
ninth graders of Islamic Junior High School. Data collection was
carried out using interview, observation, questionnaire,
documentation, and test instruments. Based on the initial
interview, it shows that students need media to help in the
teaching and learning process in class and make it easier to
understand the material, especially in speaking skills. The results
of this study indicated that the learning media developed was
suitable to be used as a medium in the process of learning
English, especially in speaking skills. The result of the study
showed by the result of validation by media experts get mean
score 4,13 categorized as excellent category. The result of
students response after using the product get mean score 4,31
categorized as excellent category. Based on those result,
Pokemon Game Media appropriated to teach speaking skill for
junior high school students’.
