Abstract

This study is aimed to develop the Pop Up card to be used in teaching
English reading in Junior High School. This research is classified into
Research and Development (R & D) with ADDIE Models: Analysis,
Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The instruments used were
observation sheet, interview and questionnaires. The observation sheet
and the interview were used in the needs analysis step, while the
questionnaires were for the content expert, media expert, Pop Up
expert, English teacher and students distributed to assess the media.
There are two types of the data resulted from this study, quantitative
and qualitative. The result showed that based on content expert, media
expert and English teacher, this Pop Up card was Excellent and
feasible to use in the English reading Instruction. It was proven by the
result of the average score that was 83%. Meanwhile, the result of the
students’ response was excellent. It was shown by 79.7% of the everage
score. Thus, this pop up card is suitable media to be used to teach and
learn English reading skill for junior high school.
