Abstract

Writing is considered as the difficult skill in English because it covers the
application of grammar mastery, idiom, and vocabulary and language
context. Through writing, students can deliver information across place and
time. In fact, the students writing skill is low. It is necessary to find a way to
help the students in mastering writing in the most fun and easy way.
Therefore, this study aims to: (1) describe how Pixton (comic) Application
improve students’ writing skill, and (2) the impact of Pixton (comic)
application on students’ writing performance. This study applied Classroom
Action Research to gain the data of students’ writing ability. The participants
of this study were students of XI MIPA 4. This study used observation, test,
and questionnaire to collect the data. Before implementing the action, a
pretest was conducted to know the students’ ability in writing skill. The
result shows that Pixton (comic) application can whereas to enhance
students’ writing skill. This can be seen on the improvement on each cycle.
The average score of writing skill at pretest was 69. On cycle I, the average
score was 74 and in cycle II it improved to 85. The Pixton (comic)
application also helped them to understand the context, so that they could
express their vocabulary and idea Smoothly.
